First in Class "First Yank Tank" and 9th Overall!

Team Tinkerbell Rosso (aka "Red Tinkerbell") has been established to raise money for children struggling with health issues during the first years of life. The team is a combined effort between RaceforChildren.org and the Tinkerbell Guild. Both have come together to enter a car in the upcoming "24 Hours of LeMons" race, December 27-28 at Thunderhill Raceway Park, in an effort to raise money for the Children's Hospital of Orange County.

The "24 Hours of LeMons" (as in lemons, the fruit) is a spoof on the famous "24 Hours of Le Mans" held in Sarthe, France, each year. While the Le Mans race costs each team millions of dollars, entrants to the LeMons are limited to spending just $500 on a car… and it has to run 24 hours. It's a race of pure driving skill pushing the team to the limits… well, assuming the car doesn't break down.

If you have ever dreamed about hanging with the jet set of the racing world, look somewhere else. However, if you have ever wanted to make a contribution to a very worthy cause, and tell your friends and coworkers that you are part-owner of a race team, we've got your answer. For as little as $10, you can plaster your name or logo on one of Detriot's finest creations - our 1996 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor (skillfully transformed into a classic LeMons racer).

Sponsorship programs range from $10 to $10,000 - something for everyone. 100% of donations go directly to the Children's Hospital of Orange County (and are 100% tax deductable). This event is covered each year by major media franchises such as the LA Times, Car and Driver, Road & Track, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and Autoblog.com. Coincidentally, our own Michael Harley (a writer for Autoblog) will be covering the event on their site from a driver's perspective!

Check out the different sponsorship programs, donate and tell your friends. Keep up to date with team activities and enjoy photos on our blog.
